Chris Jones is pushing back against the criticism being aimed at the Kansas City Chiefs’ defensive line, even as the team boasts an impressive 3-0 record to kick off the 2026 NFL season. Victories over the Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, and Miami Dolphins have put the Chiefs in a strong position, yet doubts about their pass rush linger.
After three games, Kansas City holds the fourth spot in the NFL for yards allowed per game at 278, while ranking third in points allowed, giving up just 16.7 per contest. However, neither Jones nor his fellow defensive lineman George Karlaftis has managed to notch a sack so far this season. In response to the critics, Jones made a bold statement: “Just give y’all another week to write about the Chiefs defensive line that suck and why y’all pay me and George. It’s okay we’re giving up 10 points a game and are 3-0.” His focus is clearly on the team’s success rather than individual accolades like sack totals.
With their unbeaten record on the line, the Chiefs are gearing up for a critical Week 4 showdown against their divisional foes, the Las Vegas Raiders, scheduled for Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET in Las Vegas.
The Bigger Question
Will Chris Jones’ insistence on prioritizing team success over personal sack statistics resonate with fans, or will the lack of sacks from him and George Karlaftis continue to stoke criticism of the Chiefs’ defensive line?

There’s a very easy way to shut up the critics Chris!
True, but stats aren’t everything. If the defense is limiting points and yards, that’s a win. Sacks will come when the team cohesion clicks, but I’ll take this solid performance over individual numbers any day.
