    How ’bout Bill Parcells? :D

I still believe there is a place for Parcells. I fully expect them to announce that he is taking over as President of Football Operations for Hunt himself.

Last year I would have let Haley go in a heartbeat. Even still there are things about him that make me want him gone. If he comes out again next season with the mindset that he can be head coach AND offensive coordinator, I will once again be off the Haley bandwagon. He simply is NOT that kind of coach right now.

That would mean that Haley really does need to learn to use an OC. he cannot be allowed to make game time decisions, coach players in the game, AND call plays all at the same time.

I think they began at least teaching the metric system more than they use to in school. I don’t ever remember being taught the metric system. I have a conversion chart I have to refer to often.

The US also spells many words differently than other countries who use English as their primary language. For instance…most are taught to spell realize with a ‘z’…but the proper European spelling, which was the original way to spell it…is with an ‘s’…realise.

Other examples are: favor vs favour…there are many words like favor of which the American spelling omits the ‘u’.

I’m bored and rambling, hahaha. :)

I remember the failed metric conversion attempt. Grams, Meters, and all that.

The thing that killed it was construction. So many houses were built on the SAE system that when you try to install metric nominal building materials, nothing fits.

We went through this when I was in the seabees in Sicily. We laid out all our building members on SAE measurements, when it came time to put up the plywood and sheetrock it was all metric sized. We spent so many extra hours and waste cutting the sizes down to fit properly.

The same thing happend in plumbing as well. All the pipes are different sizes.

It will be very hard for the US to completely convert.

Reporting a story without checking facts is terrible journalism. Just because one of my buddies said he saw bigfoot walking down mainstreet does not make it a news story.

But this is the way American Journalism has been for the last 20 years. When the anchors and reporters at ABC can say falsehoods and get away with it, why would some lowly dude in KC think any different?

That is what i am terribly sick of seeing, like madden always said “If you get your hands on the ball, you gotta catch it?”

I get disgusted with some of our receivers sometimes (every Sunday) after the many, many dropped passes.

But hey we got a win today, and now i dont feel like we are the ******* child of the NFL.

Saw the power rankings for all teams today, we are not in the top ten, but we are also not in the worse five. The Raiders were ranked the worse, that is always music to my ears!

in reply to: Larry Johnson #908267

Yeah, for the first time in a long time, Johnson finally did his job. Maybe he had some more opportunities, maybe it was all him, but he JUST did his job this week.

I am sorry, I cannot read too much into this win though, I am happy we won, but the Redskins played a horrible game this week and we again BARELY beat them. We got a win, but if the same team that played against the Ravens and Cowboys had showed up, it would not have been such a bad game.

How many passes hit receivers right in the hands today that should have been caught? Many more than were over or underthrown. We also still had problems on the offensive line and our defense was not tackling well.

It would good to see DJ in the game though, I hope we continue to see things from him.

Why would a NFL team play an AFL team back then? It would only help the competition.

Dallas chose the Cowboys, and the Chiefs went packing.

Here we are four decades later. The Dallas Cowboys organization has its place in history in the NFL and sports in general. The Chiefs?

Actually, dumbA$$, the Chiefs have a very rich history. Lamar Hunt, our owner at the time was very instrumental in bringing the AFL and NFL together into one league.

Oh and that big game everyone tries to get to? That was our owner’s idea, he even NAMED it for Pete’s sake.

The modern NFL that you so richly seem to love would not have been what it is today had it not been for Lamar Hunt and the KC Chiefs.

What kinds of contributions have Cowgirl owners brought to the table?? Hmmm, a scoreboard so low that even the Cowgirl’s punter can hit it? How about that brilliant idea of having a bar right in the middle of where the players run through?

The only team in the NFL that is a greater laughing stock than the Raiders is the Cowgirls. Yeah, you might have won a few games here and there, and might even have gone to the Superbowl, but your team is filled with chumps, your owner is a chump, and you my friend are a chump!

Jesus, why is everyone putting so much pressure on Cassel in camp? Do you think Brady, Manning, Brees, or some other high end QB looks like the best in camp?

Umm yeah, I would expect anyone of that calibre and playing experience to be pretty solid in camp

Wait, do you really think that the Chiefs will spend the kind of money on a first round draft pick just to make sure another team does not get him? Not only is that idiotic, it is just plain stupid.

We will draft Crabtree if Pioli and crew think they need a receiver. They will draft someone else if they think they need that player. They will not draft Crabtree just to make sure another team does not get him.

    Subj: FW: President Obama??????

If you don’t study history you can’t appreciate it.

    PLEASE READ THIS…I AM STUNNED.

Perhaps there are SOME out there who are beginning to get ‘the picture’. The following is a narrative taken from Sunday Morning’s televised ‘Meet The Press’. and the author is employed by none other than the Washington Post!! Yeah……the Washington Post of New York and Los Angeles Times fame!! Must say that I’m duely impressed………………

From Sunday’s Televised ‘Meet the Press’ Senator Obama was asked about his stance on the American Flag. Obama Explains National Anthem Stance

Sun, 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, General Bill Ginn’ USAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain why he doesn’t follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.

The General also stated to the Senator that according to the United States Code,

Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171… During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. At the very least, ‘Stand and Face It’

Senator Obama Live on Sunday states, ‘As I’ve said about the flag pin, I don’t want to be perceived as taking sides, Obama said ‘There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song ‘I’d Like To Teach the World To Sing.’ If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.’We should consider to reinvent our National Anthem as well as to redesign our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. It’s my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we as a Nation of warring people, should conduct ourselves as the nations of Islam, whereas peace prevails. (WHAT?????- my note) Perhaps a state or period of mutual concord between our governments. When I become President, I will seek a pact or agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation have placed upon the nations of Islam an unfair injustice. My wife disrespects the Flag for many personal reasons. Together, she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past, many years ago. She has her views and I have mine’. Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President of the United States and I have put aside my hatred. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path of hope. My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country’s First Family. Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America .
    WHAAAAAAAT the ….. !!!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you heard it right. This could possibly be our next President. I, for one, am speechless.

    Dale Lindsborg ,

    Washington Post

Sorry guys, there are a lot of things to criticize Obama for, but this is not true. This never happened.

    http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/stance.asp

Why not talk about all the things that Obama should be criticized for, like his inexperience, the way he will say anything to get elected, and how his policies are going to be bad for America. How about his going on and on about how he is going to bring peace to the world while invading Pakistan?

I might sound a little kooky here, but history has a way of repeating itself. The last time we saw this much of a collapse in the stock market was during the great depression.

I think we should all be preparing ourselves now for soup kitchen lines, because this is likely to be bad no matter who is elected.

Seems to me now that McCain’s chances are not slim and none, but none and none. The polls are just so much in Obama’s favor (not just the general election polls but also for so many states, including ones that usually go Republican like North Carolina, Colorado, and Virginia).

Seems like the troubled economy is McCain’s undoing. And I just don’t see Obama’s supporters changing their minds even if something major and negative comes out about Obama before the election.

Does anyone here think McCain still has at least a small chance?
Heh, how about this question, does McCain have a better chance of beating Obama then we do of winning the Super Bowl this season?

McCain’s chances are better than our chances of winning a Super Bowl, but the results look bleak for sure.

The thing to remember is that most of the time these polls tend to favor the democrat before the election, but on election day things are a different story. It happened in 2000 and 2004.

Polls are hard to understand, and it does not take into account that people do lie. Why? I have no idea, but in 2004 there was a study on why the exit polling was so wrong. The number one reason they cited was that they were lied to.

I think a better explanation is that there is no way to completely get a sampling of 30 million voters by calling 5000

Yes you all know what thread I am talking about. Most here are grown adults!!!!!! Why must we be corraled and watched after like children. Yes, I totally agree with the F bombs and using the lords name etc. but to close a thread because of some “I’m gonna beat your a**” comment is ridiculous in my estimation. Heck, he even rebutted and explained himself!!! Loosin up the reigns a bit Chiefster. After all, it is a site that talks about one of the most violent sports in the world!!:D No offense meant, just giving my opinion.

Well considering I am the one that was offered to have my A$$ kicked, I still agree with you.

However, there are a lot of guys that do not like the negativity here. Some of it is founded, some maybe not so much.

Lets let these things run their course though, the argument will just spill over to another thread if you close it.
