Yet, despite Walker’s electrifying start, Reid has hinted at a plan to dial back his touches in favor of rookie running back Emmett Johnson. “The other part is allowing Emmett to grow,” Reid explained, suggesting that Johnson will be getting more snaps moving forward. This strategic decision seeks to balance the workload between the two backs, ensuring Walker remains fresh as the season progresses. In the first two weeks, Walker was handed the ball 24 times in Week 1 and 23 times in Week 2, while Johnson saw limited action with only eight carries in Week 1 and just a couple in Week 2.
