Personally, I do volunteer work for a few organizations, including but not limited to my local church. I have paid my fair share of taxes over the years for sure, just to see that money go down the drain for the most part.
I do feel that it is important for us to be well rounded individuals, but I am here in large part to feed the sports-crazed football addicted part of my well-rounded self. So back to football.

most of the time, the people that are for more taxes on the “rich”, against tax cuts because they think the rich already have too much, and feel sorry for the poor although they dont do anything for them…just feel sorry for em, are liberals.
liberals are good at feeling sorry for people, just bad about doing something for them. they dont have any problem taking other peoples money to help them, but cant do anything on their own. Liberals are sad sad people.

For the people by the people. Yet, no one wants to spend the money to take care of anyone else. Tell me, when you’re volunteering at the soup kitchen, do you ask if someone is a liberal before offering them soup?

What are you doing to help besides spewing a bunch of hot air into the room?

this isnt to brag. this is to show that there are people out there, many people in fact that really dont just live for themselves.
everyone should find some way to help out the needy. That is the solution but it isnt taxing the rich so that part of that tax money goes to the needy and most of it gets waisted.
you never hear about these people or the impact of the American churches that help the poor because there is a liberal media out there that doesnt want you to know this. you are all brainwashed. simple as that. I know i will never convince you of anything, but i will never stop speaking the truth.
if you want to help the “problem”, there are problems all around you, you just have to actually do something about it.

And pretty much nothing will get done except for a lot of spending of tax dollars. I’m trying to think of any major change that any recent president(last 5) has made that I have benefited from. I can’t think of one.

I couldn’t agree more with this post.

yes, this is the whole point. you liberals are expecting something from the government. that is the problem.
i expect NOTHING from the government. they do not owe me anything, i have no sort of entitlement.
it is not what your country can do for you, it is what you can do for your country. that is a line you liberals will NEVER understand.

They must not be liberals.

Member::Tim,
Careful with the generalizations. Just because someone has a “humanitarian” side doesn’t mean they are liberal or buy into the “generalized” solutions that you list. I admire that you volunteer time to help a child in need. I agree that as a society we need to do a better job of reaching out to those in need. This just isn’t the forum or the place to get into a political debate. This is by nature a sports related forum. If you are looking for a political related forum go to your favorite search engine and seek one out.
BACK TO FOOTBALL….

It’s great you take time with this unfortunate little boy but what does this do to help fix our society and keep the “liberals” that you so often refer to from ruining our culture?

the solution to help the needy isnt the government, it is you and me.
what i do doesnt help keep the libs from ruining our culture. our votes for non-libs aka not voting democrat is what would keep them from ruining our culture and turning us into a socialist country.
I am not in any way saying that the republicans have the solution because they dont. but they are by far the lesser of the two evils…the least likely to change our free society to a socialist society.
but…all in all…one day our country is going to go down the toilet anyways. and nothing is going to stop that. it is just a matter of how fast that happens, whether now or later. i would prefer later.

conservatives learn growing up to rely on themselves, and not expect anything from the government.
it is not what your country can do for you, it is what you can do for your country.

So that is what your daddy taught you?
Rely on yourself?
So you don’t rely on daddy for a job?
Sounds like you have the most warped sense of reality that I have ever heard of.
Come to think of it, either daddy or Rush has jacked you up so much, you don’t even know what you are saying or thinking any more.
Another worthless ditto head.
