We know that Dan Sorensen and Ben Niemann came this same route.

I’m not sure if I ever been this excited after a draft besides Mahomes but even thin I dreaded waiting a year for him on he bench. I think there’s alot of these players that will make the team over veterans. Especially if it helps give us more cap space.

I think good teams keep replacing situational players or backups before their contract grows to big. Sorenson is a big example but he did save us in the playoffs against that fake punt so il forever be thankful for him and he does earn his pay so I might keep him but I would replace him if you had someone cheaper that we coukd trust as much as him. Im thinking Colquitt might be a surprise cut or trade if that undrafted punte Townsend is able to prove himself. With out offense and style of play its not productive to keep a punter that is high priced. We could find a cheaper punter that’s reliable not to shank it is good enough for me. But look for the chiefs to trim salary cap as much as they can.

I would actually love to know all the salaries of all our backups and see if their pay matches their play and where we can trim salaries.

That’s understandable — just look at Piol’s drafts. It seemed like Pioli could NOT identify team needs or evaluate talent. By contrast, this current regime, fresh off a SB win, still recognized team needs that were glaringly obvious & went after good-looking prospects to try to address those needs.

    As I said before, Pioli’s 2010 draft on a scale of 1 to 10 got a -50 (minus 50). This 2020 draft gets a 10.
