It feels like 2018 in many ways.

    Defense
Pretty poor effort tonight. Pass defense was pretty bad in large part due to the lack of any pass rush all game. Carr had all day to throw the ball. And when that happens at some point someone is going to get open and that happened far to often tonight. Simply put the d is an issue right now. Last year they were getting better as the year went but the last 2 games they have not been very good. This has to get fixed. It might take another loss for them to get the message. But at least they now have a 3 game lead in the west.

    Offense.
They were pretty damn good tonight. If Mahomes was not in the MVP race before tonight he has to be in that race now. He found a way to win and that’s what the great QBs do. When they are playing like that they are going to be in any game.

Travis Kelce blamed himself on Twitter for the loss earlier in the season. I don’t think that was true. But he sure was out to make up for it tonight. And it’s awesome that he made the game winning TD catch. The guy is having a great season.

It’s amazing how often Daniel Sorensen is around to make a big play in the game. Going back to the post season last season he was always somehow showing up in one of the things that allowed the Chiefs to keep coming back. He has been in a couple of those this year as well. And tonight again made the pick to end it. Got to tip the cap to him. An underrated player IMHO.

It’s on to the Bucs now. Hopefully the D can get it together. They simply can not expect to win many games playing like they have been playing. Spaggs hopefully will get it all together. GO CHIEFS

The difference in the score was holding them to a field goal on their third drive in the first half.

Sadly the only way the defence is ever gonna get fixed is if and only if Veach recognizes that LB and CB is truly is a Weekends and chooses to address it with either a big time FA signing or Top of the line Draft Picks and until that day those positions will remain a deficiency. Gay and Sneed appear to be Hits. Time will tell on Keyes if he is the real deal or not.

The pass rush was non-existent tonight. Derek Carr played well, but Tom Brady will put on a clinic next week if that pass rush decides to take a 3rd week of vacation. CEH and the offense played well.

Tough game. The Raiders really made strides to improve their team this year. Their offensive line is really good. Always thought that Hudson was a good center, bet there was some back and forth in Clark’s suite over letting him go.

Offensively we’re very, very hard to stop. Kelce is having a MONSTER season. No team so far have had an answer for him, as long as we can get him the ball. CEH is turning into a really consistent workhorse RB. Mahomes is amazing and should give the pundits someone else to talk about other than Russell Wilson for the MVP. The main thing from our offense that concerned me was the drops. Guys weren’t concentrating on their routes or bracing themselves for hits before catching the ball.

ST did well, but why are we getting so many flags over illegal blocks?

Defensively we’ve got a LOT of work to do. No apparent game plan, really bad tackling and vanilla showing from the lineman and LB’s. Granted, the Raiders have a good QB in Carr, and a really good O-line, but when you show up to face a Gruden team with a defensive game plan that would put high school defensive linemen to sleep, you’re going to get taken down the field in the NFL. We did start doing better in the last quarter and you could see the results of missed passes, blocks not getting get set by their O-line and runs getting stopped near the LOS. We go through this trend of not showing up on D, then playing better only after a sideline blow-up between defensive players late in the game. Defensively we need to show up with a four quarter game plan.

Brady has got the Bucs playing at a much better level, and will give us fits down to the last second. That team reminds me a LOT of our ’93 team when Montana and Allen started making that team “believe”. This will be a really good test. We’ve just beaten one batch of pirates, time to beat another. GO CHIEFS

I just dont get Sorensen. The guy is a majority of the issues we have. Always gets burnt, or gives a huge cushion and he is targeted a lot because of that cushion but then makes that one play or hit that makes you say. Wow we really needed that.

Unfortunately the issues with the LB’s and CB will remain a glaring issue until Veach decides that the problem needs to be fixed. Either with a couple of FA studs or by addressing it in the Draft until then . These issues will continue to be and will remain a glaring Issue. Gay and Sneed seem to be Hits. The jury is still out on Keyes if he is gonna work out or not. He needs more playing time. At this point I would let Breeland and Ward both Go and just draft there replacements or draft one and sign a FA.

This is the main issue with the pass defense. When you give any QB all day to throw like Carr had then he’s going to find someone. Fix the pass rush and things will get better
