Oh, and last I heard y’all were talking about pulled pork, ribs, etc.. I can make and bring my homemade potato salad to go along with that, as well as my baked beans…just let me know if that’s okay. I’ll also bring my standard…cookies & fudge.

The Chiefs and Royals are looking at a combo package and the gates will be open early simply because there is no way to turn people away before the Royals game. The best scenario would be to go to the Royals game, then tailgate for the Chiefs. Since this Monday night game is the late one, some “rookies” will be passed out in the parking lot in the first quarter. If you party early, it would be great to take a nap in the Royal’s Hyvee seats!

    😆 @ “rookies”

That’s awesome they’re gonna open gates early! It allows those who are able to make a day of it celebrating! Unless some unforeseen change occurs…I will be one of those taking advantage of gates opening early! YEEHAW!

I just spoke with the group salses manager from the stadium and she informed me that there will be no tailgating until approx 3 hours before the MNF game. IF this turns out to be true, we will be staying at the quality inn on Noland rd and they said we can bbq in the parking lot so we can start the tailgate there and move to Arrowhead once they open the gates. Just an idea. I am hoping to buy royals tix and then dare them to get me outta the parking lot!!:sFl_canada2:

The Royals game will be done at say 5:30ish maybe 6. How do they plan on kicking everybody out?????? My guess is they won’t, but they also won’t promote tailgating all day…..which is too bad. I don’t think its possible to clear a parking lot in 1 hour.

Oh, haha. Well, hopefully it will work out. I’m not sure, but think mine may be close to nosebleed, lol. It’s okay though, cause it’s still a life first for me, and much of the game is about the environment, tailgating, friends, atmosphere, all that jazz, haha.

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to afford LL ST’s. The upper level package was a great buy @ $250, and included the memorial brick in the new circular walkway…which allowed me the opportunity to become a part of Arrowhead permanently. Here’s what I had my memorial brick inscribed with:

    Connie Jo
    In Memory Of
    Derrick Thomas

No my seats were in upper level. They were just in the thrid row. Basically Club level with no overhang.

You get way up there, and you start debating on peeing in a cup just so you don’t have to walk the stairs.

I have no idea how they plan on donig it, but I have already bought tix for the Royals game so I can get in the parking lot, and I plan on being too drunk to drive so I wont be able to leave the parking lot even if I wanted to!!

UGH! Party poopers! Stinks they won’t open gates earlier! It makes no feasible sense to me at all, & people are either gonna drink early or not, they can’t control that aspect. They’ve already lost control of drinking…cause many will be drinking at the Royals game!

KISS! ‘Keep It Simple Stupid!’ They’re creating more problems for themselves, & traffic control…not allowing people in early. If the Royals game is over around 6 ish, Chiefs gates open at 3 hrs before, that’s 5 PM…that’s only an hour difference…traffic on the Interstates & Blue Ridge are gonna be a nightmare! It’s putting more than normal trying to enter/leave both stadiums during the same time periods.

Canada…since you bought Royals tickets are we tailgating beforehand at the hotel parking lot? What is the plan now? I don’t plan on buying Royals tickets and going to the Royals game first. I’d rather tailgate…not a big MLB fan, haha.

Ummmm…wonder what their brilliant plan is at Arrowhead if the Royals game by some remote chance goes into a 10th inning!!!

I only bought my tix in case you need them to get into the parking lot. I could care less about the game!! I paid $7 per ticket and I have one for u if we do need them to get in!! :bananen_smilies046:

Yeah, I’ve been nosebleed before, and the stairs are scary steep going down, especially if they’re wet with lots of beer being spilled on them!…or beer in ya! HA!

Only $7 ???? Heck, I had no idea what tickets cost to a Royals game, but assumed they were around the same as a Chiefs game ticket…apparently my assumption was WAY WRONG! LOL $7…that’s well worth spending to be in the parking lot early! Hold on to one for me, & I’ll give ya $7 when I see ya! Thanks! :D

It won’t be possible to clear traffic out of the connecting Royals stadium in one hour. If gates open 3 hrs before…I think MNF is 8 CST…puts gates opening at 5 PM…BAD…that’s during 4-6 peak rush hour traffic on I-70. Royals game over around 6 ish is the worst timing possible too…as many who plan on attending MNF will begin heading to the stadium as soon as possible after they get off work! Between 4-6 PM is major rush hours!
I-70 can be bumper to bumper from downtown to well past the stadiums just with people getting off work…no stadium factor. I-435 & I-70 connect is jambed up during rush hours traffic too. Many people take both to get to the sports complex…Interstate backs up without a rush hour factor on Sundays. Throw in the MNF traffic factor…Royals game traffic exiting the stadium parking…rush hour work traffic…what a mess that’s gonna be on I-70 & 435!
