I have been reading all the posts about getting this great player and that great player but I wouldn’t expect anything great. Clark has made the Chiefs like the Royals. What upsets me is we have a good team and by adding a couple more great players via free agency we would become even better. Building through the draft alone with a couple of cheap free agent signings much like the Royals won’t get it done. We were fortunate last year to have an easy schedule but I don’t see us reaching the playoffs this year unless we get another good safety, DT and offensive line help and by this I don’t mean getting some early to mid 30s players CHEAP. I applaud the moves NewEngland made. This is what makes them a great team year after year. I wonder if Pioli wishes he was still there?Baseball is completely different, my friend. The Royals can’t field a decent squad due to money, yes, but only because Kansas City residents will not support them. In baseball, you go to games-the team has more money to spend on talent. Pretty simple math. The Royals do an incredible job on developing their minor league talent, which is the other part of the equation.
Their are more regulations on how NFL teams spend their money with this new CBA.08/10/2011 at 5:17 am #971593DMN

Whatever, the thread did not need clarification. Yet here we are still getting spoken to like we are children.Did anyone here have a problem with anything in this thread? Feel free to speak up. People disagree, adults sometimes say crazy things like wet blanket or troll. Is that really a need for you guys to “clarify” points of view for me? Ad I say me, because no mod is trying to “clarify” my point to anyone else.
I have to take the blame for the wet blanket remark… but seriously who can really take offense to that… Ha.
I respect everyones point of view… I really do. But I have heard enough negative attitude over the 10 win 3 season stent to last me a lifetime. A chiefs fan cheering for a 2-14 team should be ecstatic with a 10-6 division winner 2 years later…
I for one am amazed by our progress and am excited as hell for this season.
Bottom line if you are going to come out and publicly flame a team that played their hearts out and won the division then prepare to get an ear full… and if you can’t handle that then keep your negative **** to yourself. If you call yourself a fan then cheer… or otherwise what are you doing here?
i saw a bumper sticker the other day that reminded me of chiefrule… it read “I would join the optimists club… but it probably wouldn’t work out.” haha

Just draft players and sign one or two decent players (not great) and hope for the best. Much like the Royals.Kurt Warner was a grocery store clerk, lol.
chiefsrule;231523 wrote:That must be what everyone thought when they voted him into the pro bowl too and why the Chiefs had more success running to the left side.Pro Bowl is a joke of a popularity contest more so than not.
chiefsrule;231548 wrote:WTF? Really? We had to pay that much to Berry because that is what the players around him were getting paid. That is Chiefs having high draft picks and overpaying for players that never played a down in the NFL. BUT when it comes to signing free agents we toss out a few pennies and see who will come our way. And because we may pay a couple of players some money compare what we pay the entire team to other teams. That was the point. WTF? LMAO.Oh and how about paying $50 million to Tyson Jackson who can’t even hold the starting job but then again we had to pay him that. That was the Chiefs plan was to overpay draft picks but not pay for players that have proven they can play in the NFL.
Berry is only one example of Clarks willingness to spend money. I can assure you that bringing in Scott Pioli as GM was not “cheap”!!
chiefsrule;231550 wrote:Maybe I heard about a different Brian Waters but he had a positive attitude and contributed to the team on community quite heavily. And this just in, he was still good. Please note I did state, “if rumors are accurate”. The rumors are widespread among many inside sources, which make them difficult to discount when so widespread. Yes, you are correct, Brian was an honorable and admirable asset to the KC community, as well, on the field in his prime. However, he spent much of the last couple of seasons injured & injury prone.
TopekaRoy;231576 wrote:Chiefsrule is right. The Chiefs play the Bears this year. So the best that they can hope for is 15-1! :yahoo:😆
tornadospotter;231590 wrote:I will state as fact right now! That I believe with the current Chiefs on Roster, that we can go 16-0! I also believe that we will not lose, untill we may, but will win all the games we do. I believe we can win. I know we will! I Believe in the CHIEFS! I am a CHIEFS HOMER, and DAMM PROUD OF IT! I do not like pessimistic fans, but they are still Fans of the CHIEFS! What I really do not like is fans who think the CHIEFS are done before a single game has been played. That just saddens me, it makes me wonder, where is the faith, where is the faith in this Chiefs Nation, Where is the FAITH IN THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS!!!!!! Not even a single game down has been played yet, but doubt abounds, ole ye of little faith, saddens me.:bananen_smilies046:

Its quite clear you wear rose colored glasses. No matter what the Chiefs do it will come up roses in your eyes.
Gotta love your positive attitude and the way you put a spin on things though. LOL

Just pointing out the facts that we had an easy schedule and we don’t have that this year. I look at things realistically.

At seasons end we can discuss how they played, the impact they had on the team, the stats they put up with the CHIEFS. Can we do that with the players that someone wied we had?? NO!! Why is that so hard for you to understand??
BTW…when does Chiefsrules get his spanking? Or is this sort of public reprimand reserved specially for me?
Two QBS with tons of experience there. Usually your backup at least has some good experience not two QBS that we are hoping to teach while he is playing the game if Cassel gets hurt.

In my understanding of the meaning of the word “troll” we are talking about someone who is simply looking for a fight.
I think the repeated posts by “chiefsrule” about how proud he is of the longevity of this thread prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he has been trolling.
Doesn’t mean he is not a Chiefs fan, just that he is deliberately trying to stir up a ruckus.
As far as I am concerned the only person in this thread deserving a good swift kick in the butt from mods is “chiefsrule”.
Spirited discussion is one thing…..glorifying in creating fights is simply trolling.
Gonna go put on my Kevlar vest and prepare myself for suspension or worse.
I bet if I post something about you right now you will have to respond then. So does this make you a troll for constantly posting when you are asked a question or someone says something about your post? Hmmmm

I look at things realistically. No, you look at things through fear and dread. You don’t have confidence we’ll win many of those games, based on your previous posts and comments. I say we’re better this year, and that we’ve addressed some areas, and I think a lot of those are anyone’s game.
Por ejempelo, last time Pittsburgh came to Arrowhead, a team worse than the one we’ll field this year beat Big Ben and the Steelers. Maybe that means I wear rose colored glasses, but I’ve seen us triumph numerous times when we weren’t supposed to.
I’m not saying we’ll be 16-0 or 14-2, and we may end up tanking badly due to injury or whatever else, but just the same, we could end up smoking some of these guys. You have to play the game, and that’s why they do.
