“Clark has never said no when I’ve come to him to talk about players. And I don’t even have to go to him. He just wants to know before things are done. Since we’ve been here, there have been no restrictions. It’s not about how much you spend. It’s about how you spend it.”Hmmm I wonder why he is saying this? Sems like others have questioned the same thing I have or he might know that this is the truth and trying to cover it up.

Just kidding. :lol::bananen_smilies046:
HaHa. Regardless this has been one of the most talked about posts on this board and has made for a great discussion. I think what some need to realize is these are just opinions on here. nobody knows what will happen. I had the opinion that Herm sucked after that ugly playoff loss his first year. Most said well we made it to the playoffs and were satisfied. I guess I strive for the best. Honestly I hope the Chiefs go 11-5 this year but with the schedule and not getting better talent in here via free agency especially on the lines I have a hard time seeing us getting to .500. BUT that is my opinion.

You are having a hard time figuring that out?
Did you stop watching The Chiefs, hoping they would prove you wrong, when you had no confidence in the team?
Seems people who have been there would be the most knowledgeable about that particular position.

And, for me, nothing is more fun than getting more than you expected from your team.
The only issue I have with this team for the coming season, aside from still being young, and inexperienced, would be the OT spots.
So, while it may seem that I share your concerns, I actually don’t agree with a lot of your opinions.
No need to bother expressing my difference of opinion, for the most part, because just about all that can be said in opposition has been.
But I do, most definitely, have my concerns for how ell The Chiefs will do this season.
I think we had a very easy schedule last year, and that we have a very tough schedule this season.
I expect that favors The Chargers, who have had better success against winning teams in the recent past.
And, just like you, I hope The Chiefs exceed my expectations once again.
I think Charles is the most talented runner in The NFL. But I doubt he will get as many opportunities as other RBs do, and I do not yet trust our O-line to make other RBs on the team truly effective. Not to mention, I distrust our ability to offer protection for Matt Cassel.
My hope for this season is that Charles will get more touches, and will prove to be durable enough to “carry the load” for a full season, and that his constant presence will, again, slow down opposing pass-rushers, helping our pass protection.
I am rather confident in our defenses ability to play with the better teams. They truly impressed me last year.
Anyway….
This place can be tough on fans with an unfavorable outlook.
Here’s to hoping your skin is thick enough to last you until your perspective gets a bit more rosey.

No, people asked you who we should have signed…to which you had no response!

Blalock might not have been going anywhere though and not sure if he wanted to. And the argument of well other teams didn’t want these players I could say the same about players we picked in the draft or Gregg and Breaston. Those two players are about the same age as the players we are resigning so they most certainly could have been here several more years. I do think we could have contended THIS year with those players added but it is obvious to everyone that isn’t going to happen this year and we wait yet another year.

I think I see what they are doing with Charles though and that is saving him for when we do finally become contenders. It seems the life of a RB in the NFL isn’t very long anymore. We are seeing more and more those RBs who carry the ball 300-400 times in a year quickly fade. You see more and more teams going with the RB by committee approach now because of it.

Franklin, and how was he going to change the entire outcome of the season for us? I said very early on that I was on the Franklin bandwagon, but when we signed Kelly Gregg, I looked into what he can do and I am convinced that he is a better fit here than Franklin was. Again, just because Franklin was gonna cost more does not make him a better player. I just don’t get why you aren’t willing to even consider the fact that these guys might know what they are doing. You just chalk it up to Clark being cheap.
…and Clark does not pick the players, Pioli does.

Rather than building a great team that could have them for several years to come.

So I give you the players I wanted which you said I didn’t and you come up with a different argument. Franklin was a younger better player than Gregg that is why I wanted him. Yes he probably would have cost more but you get what you pay for so we settle for a 34 year old who likely won’t be around when/if we finally become contenders.
As far as Blalock he was a free agent.
Justin Blalock
Outlook: He was drafted in the second round (39th overall) of the 2007 draft. He struggled his rookie season, but things starting to come together for him under veteran NFL line coach Paul Boudreau. He’s extremely durable and has started 62 of a possible 64 regular-season games. Also, Blalock had a 41 on the Wonderlic test, so he’s able to digest game plans and is rarely out of position.Sign or not sign: He will likely receive a higher offer and sign elsewhere.

How long have we been rebuilding? And we could still be good for years to come with talented free agents. Not sure why you would think otherwise. Blalock is the same age as Hali. Franklin is only a year older than Cassel the same players we are “building” around.

Next year Carr, flowers, gilberry and bow are all free agents. Spending the bank on players whose old teams did not feel were worth their price tag will make it difficult to sign our own players.
Then we will have to start the rebuild all over again.
Your constant badgering about the chiefs not spending money on players you want is getting extremely old and makes people question if you are just trolling for a argument and really are just one of those people who will never be satisfied.
Fact of the matter is in two years this team was reformed from crap and became the division winner and made the play offs. I think pioli knows more about running a franchise than some disgruntled fan trying to coin the phrase kc cheaps!

No, I said the exact same thing again and again. Pioli apparently likes what he sees in the NT he drafted and wants a mentor for him while securing a position of need on the D line. I wanted Franklin too, but I dont jump to the conclusion that the Chiefs are cheap just because we didnt get him.
Blalock was resigned to the Falcons.
I would love to get Payton Manning or Larry Fitzgerald but that does not make them realistic FA targets.
