I found this from Schefter, very interesting

“Edwards was expected to be a priority for Chiefs GM Scott Pioli, but the Panthers came in and swiped him away. It’s just as well. Edwards is a decent run defender, but the Chiefs have the cap space to make a serious run at Aubrayo Franklin — a potential impact signing.”

Like I said I guess we will see if they even have a winning record this year. You draft players because you have to when you are on the clock either that or you trade away your pick. So you declare a 6th round pick as to not only make the team but to be a starter next year and do well that we will never have to worry about that position for years to come? You know this right? Yes we have competition at every position everyone will compete just to be on the team. Do you feel that if Cassel goes down with an inury we have a backup QB that can step in and and perform well? I like the spin you put on that one though. LOL

Again, I don;t, but it appears that NFL General Manager Scott Pioli, multiple SuperBowl winner might think so.

Or he might not. No guarantees he will even make the team.

I guess the difference between you and I is that I will give him a chance before I write him off.

Well let’s just hope he is better than Tyson Jackson.

I think if Pioli spends as anyone thinks, anyone can do his job. Maybe Al Davis should be our next GM and spend as wisely as he did, not to mention Faiders are above salary cap.
Haley and Pioli are picky on their players, not just on sports talent, also on off field attitude. Maybe thats why they don’t spend on players that everybody wants.

I agree, (except the al davis gm thing, he is better at what he does as owner of faders) While all of us fans are debating, we should do this, or we should do that, we have no clue to what the team needs, or what we have in talent on the team! We are not the ones who are around these players! We are just the ones that want the finale 53, to take use to the Super Bowl! But not just that! Keep us a powerhouse in the NFL! Big name overpaid free agents do not do that. I am tired of rebuilding, but it is being built better I think, than it was before. But as always, time will tell.
You all should maybe calm down a notch, no game has been played, and the CHIEFS ARE UNDEFEATED, so far!

But it is Great to See the Home of The Chiefs Fired UP FOR THE CHIEFS! :chiefs:

It is fun to talk about it in the meantime and think about the whatifs or whatnots. :)

So let me get this right, you disagree with my opinion therefore I don’t know anything about football and you know everything, RIGHT? LOL! Guess we will see in the standings how the Chiefs do and see who is right and who is wrong won’t we? Wet blanket? WOW! Haven’t heard that since grade school.

No I have never claimed to know everything about football… I am just trying to bring positivity to a team that is progressing and has given none of us reason to doubt them. Because they have indeed gotten better the last three years. They have drafted really well. been very smart financially and have won games.

And yes wet blanket… I said this to be respectful to your depressing attitude about everyones enthusiasm. I had typed a few other things but them deleted them.

And just a question… how many games are you going to watch this season… and why?

Yes I know he retired but why can’t I talk about how much I liked him and what he did for the Chiefs? I didn’t say we got rid of him either. I am confused why you posted that.

Any reasonable human would interpret that as saying that the Chiefs got rid of Vermeil. Perhaps what you meant to say was “Wish he had STUCK WITH US LONGER”?

And as far as I am concerned you’re welcome to talk about Vermeil all day and night if you wish. I thought he did a pretty damn good job as coach. I was damned unhappy when he retired. I think he would have eventually gotten us to the Super Bowl. An interesting aside….If you will recall the 2003 season (Vermeil’s best) you’ll remember that that there were a number of games that we won that year that we really had no business winning. We caught a break here and a break there and there were a lot of “big plays” that changed what looked like they were going to be losses into wins during that initial 9-0 streak. Last years Chiefs team was much the same way. Several times they “Just found a way to win”. We have a really good management team and I’m willing to give them a little time. Herm/Carl was NOT a good management team.

Can’t say I ever felt the same about that moron Herm the Worm.

I’m also very comfortable that Pioli/Haley will get us our first playoff win within 2-3 years and get us a Super Bowl appearance within 5 years.

I sympathize with you’re wanting some high $ free agent talent. I’d have been with you on this a few years ago. But I honestly believe that Pioli is going to build a team that can DOMINATE the AFC for 5-10 years.

I believe that within 3 years the Chiefs will replace the Splats as the team you have to beat in the AFC if you want to go to the Super Bowl….and he’s going to do it with guys that are mostly in their mid 20s.

That is a recipe for Dynasty.

And after all these years, DYNASTY is what I want.

Actually what I meant was I thought Vermeil left on a mutual decision by him and the Chiefs. I believe that is what happened but who knows.

You are right who wants to bring in great talent??? LOL

You are the troll on this board aren’t you? Anyone that disagrees with you on a topic you have to put them down any way you can. I hope you feel better about yourself after doing so. Usually people like this are insecure about themselves.

Ok Canada you aren’t even talking football anymore, you are just following me around making sarcastic remarks and name calling. If I made you look bad with one of my posts I apologize but it is far past time to just drop this once and for all. I am sorry you disagree with my opinions, I thought that is what this board was for was to talk about opinions, news and just to talk about football. I still say we will see by the end of the year if this team really improves like you say or they regress like I say. Lets just see what happens.

You didnt. You have not posted an original thought in this thread since page 1. You make childish comments throughout the whole thread and when someone does it back to you, you complain about it.
