The 49ers and their fans are treading in dangerous water. They are confident but overconfidence will cost them the game. If you underestimate the Chiefs then you are in trouble. They barely beat the Rams and Seahawks and if not for a delay of game penalty on the Seahawks for first place in their division we just might be playing the Seahawks on Sunday. The 49ers defense struggled against Russell Wilson and also against the Rams play action pass. They had trouble on offense when ever a teams defensive front got good push off the snap in which I look for Chris Jones to do very much damage up front and penetrate into the 49er backfield to pressure and sack Jimmy G. Not to mention Frank Clark coming off the edge. If the Chiefs put up points early the 49ers know they are in trouble. The first time we burn Richard Sherman over the top for six that changes everything and the 49ers DC will have to make quick changes which will open up the other side of the field for six. If the Chiefs take care of the ball and execute on both sides of the ball then the 49ers are in for a long day of disappointment.
Precisely my thoughts. The Niners fans better come to the realization that they don’t have Joe Montana in his prime behind Center for this upcoming SB. The QB that most resembles Montana in this upcoming SB just happens to be behind Center for Kansas City (Patrick Mahomes).
The Niners Defense is good, but they were not the best in football this year & they can be had if a team goes about it right & if their Offensive Line plays well. Also, they haven’t faced any Receiver core with the type of speed the Chiefs have. They can’t cover the entire field.
On Defense, if the Chiefs DT’s can overpower the middle of SF’s O-Line — and I think they can — it’s going to make things rough for the 49er Offense. It just so happens the Chiefs have as good a rotation at DT as any team in football & they can keep fresh men in the game at all times.
I think this Chiefs team is just way too hungry to just give up in a heap & roll over on their backs and die for the 49ers in this upcoming SB. They are still feeling the sting of last years AFFCG loss & now they really have the chance to make amends for that.

This brings up a good point. At some point in the game, Reid is going to test Sherman against Hill or Watkins.
Is it Sunday yet?

NEWS FLASH !! The Chiefs are going to line up a fully healthy O-Line across from them on Sunday & it’s not as though this O-Line has faced nothing but cream-puff Defensive fronts all year long. That isn’t true, by any stretch of the imagination.
This Chiefs O-Line going into this game is not the same abysmal unit that we witnessed from 2007 though 2012. When they’ve been fully healthy & intact this year, they’ve been right up there with the league’s best & have done a very credible job in this post-season.
The Chiefs O-Line will have to get the job done again, on Sunday.

Since the 38-10 game that we blew that lead I have been doing this. It doesn’t help much or at least hasn’t for me

Well, that can certainly happen if Chiefs go out on the field unready to play & then proceed to play poorly for 4 Quarters — like the Carolina Panthers did in SB 50 — which by the way was the most pathetic performance that anyone has ever seen in the post-season by a team that went 15-1 in the regular season. The Panthers mailed in that game & it was like they really didn’t want it at all.
D.R.T. said it best — the Chiefs must take care of the ball & execute on both sides, and they need to get it done on Special Teams, as well.

Participant::There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that the Chiefs have the better offense. So it will come down to their defense which has been the best in the NFL lately. I didn’t pay much attention to the 49ers this year but I watched a couple of playoff games. The 49ers are very good at getting defenses moving one way, then going the other way for a big gain. The Chiefs D can’t be fooled by their motion. They need to stay focused and take away any gaps sideline-to-sideline. Don’t let runners get around the ends. Trust your teammates to execute their assignments.
The Chiefs can’t fall behind by double digits early, this time. (Down 3 or 7 is no big deal for this team.) The ‘9ers will get yards between the 20s but the Chiefs red zone defense has been very good (when they have less field to cover). If we can hold them to a couple of field goals (or nothing) early, Mahomes will wear down the ‘9ers defense. Once we get a decent lead and force SF to throw, they are done.
My prediction: This will be a close game but the Chiefs will pull away in the 2nd half. The 49ers will score late in the game making it appear closer than it really was, but fall short.

I would love to see us with a huge lead so that we are all able to take in the final moments and enjoy a victory.
I don’t expect that to happen. I expect a very close game.

Sorry Matt, but I’m not convinced the 49ers are THAT much better than the Titans, if at all.
People have not talked about this, but I’m going to point out that people are being fooled by the 49ers decisive victory over GB.
What people are overlooking is that GB played at SF in the regular season, in LA against the Chargers, and SF again in the NFCCG. Do you see a trend with the Packers whenever they played in California? Green Bay just flat out collapsed all 3 times when they played in California. No logical explanation for it. If the NFCCG had been played at Lambeau, it’s doubtful that you would have seen the same type of result that was seen in SF.
This game isn’t in California & because of what happened in the NFCCG, it could very well be a case of people making the 49ers out to be better than what they really are. The Niners have had a great season, but they can be had and are not invincible.
If our Chiefs play the way they are capable of for a full 4 QTR’s, then the Chiefs can win decisively.

I don’t think the 49ers are invincible by any means. But they do have some elements that have troubled the Chiefs teams for years now. A pretty good Running game and a really good TE. Both have given Chiefs teams issues and have beaten the Chiefs teams a few times in the big games over the years. They have some elements that make them a real threat to the Chiefs. I don’t expect a pull away.
I do think the Chiefs will win. But I am expecting a dog fight. And hope they are to

I believe the Chiefs will win. These are both really good teams. But the Chiefs have something the 49ers don’t. Andy Reid. Yes he has his flaws as a coach. But there is something with this team. THEY WANT IT FOR HIM. You can get a sense of it just watching them. Sometimes in sports a team just has a mission they refuse to lose for. Andy Reid is that for this team. Tomorrow I believe the Chiefs will be the Super Bowl Champions LETS FREAKING GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
