I can’t really say I “like” the Turks because I’ve never been there and never known any Turks. But as an old “cold warrior” I’ve always respected them They were and are a fine and honorable ally. Of course, this puts me in a difficult situation since my closest friend in life is Armenian (we’ve been close buddies since ’75) and I’m sure you know how the Turks and Armenians feel about each other. I really wish Ahmet would tell me the Turkish side of that saga. I have heard the Armenian side from my buddy for over 40 years but I’ve never heard the Turkish side and like any divorce, there is “his side” and “her side” and the truth usually lies somewhere in between.

I understand the “tea thing”. Went to school in Scotland for 2 years and spent 6 weeks at my roommate’s father’s tea plantation in India (Kalchini in West Bengal). Can’t count how much tea I’ve drunk. I’ve been “Americanized” now so I drink coffee but a truly good cup of tea is better than any coffee ever brewed. The Turks like their coffee though if I am not mistaken?

Mahomes vs Watson…..IMO only time will tell, but I think Mahomes will turn out to be the better QB. I’ve seen many interviews with him and he is always talking about how being around his dad and a baseball locker room taught him that talent wasn’t enough and you just had to work your butt off because the extra work was more important than the raw talent. I think that if we don’t push him too far too fast he will turn out to have all of Alex’s strengths plus a cannon for an arm. Plus…y’know…I trust Reid when it comes to judging QBs. Reid has pretty much gambled his chance to win a Super Bowl and get mentioned as a potential HOF Coach on Mahomes and let’s not kid ourselves…ANDY WANTS THAT.
Alex…we don’t need to tag him. He is under contract for next year and honestly I think we have him for as long as we want and can afford him. Like any NFL player he wants a Super Bowl ring and his best chance of getting one is with our Chiefs. Teams that would want him and pay big bucks for him are teams that aren’t very good. and are hoping a new QB can make them good. I don’t think Alex wants to end his career playing for a crappy team. Who wants to end their career that way?
As for tonight’s game….I’m as nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof. But then, I always am. About 6 hours left till we “go over the top” (to use WW I parlance)

Perhaps MASS will buy his future father-in-law (looking that way ain’t it) a Chiefs shirt and we’ll get to see a pic of Mass, Kayla and Ahmet in Chiefs gear with a Chiefs game playing in the background? Staff of the Official ChiefsCrowd Embassy in Turkey. Dunno about you, but I’m especially looking forward to the in-game thread tonight. Love the idea of watching the game and interacting with some Chiefs fans who are watching the game halfway around the world.How about it MASS? while you are watching the game could you get Ahmet and Kayla to participate in the in-game thread?
BIG CHALLENGE coming tonight especially with all our injuries, but I think we have a Chiefs team that can get the job done!
CT. I’ll never get Ahmet on board with this forum. He thinks “online” has ruined their country. Thank god Kayla isn’t a phone person. She uses it like me….to talk for a few minutes & that’s it. She doesn’t have her nose in it. We actually talk @ dinner! I don’t even mention Armenians (too touchy) I have no clue why they hate each other & don’t want to know! Maybe I can get Kayla to join-up. Her English isn’t bad (not great) Don’t know about her writing skills. I know she has this website bookmarked. She checks too see if I posted a pic of her.
I’ll get Kayla to give me an “approved” picture. She has to give in! Come on Kayla…just “do it” Yes…I’m talking to her thru this website! I know Ahmet will be watching the game with me (also Kayla) though she’s got work @ the hospital early. I have a great apartment in downtown Istanbul & I haven’t even been there that much. Well…looks like a nap for me. It’s almost 12:00AM here & I’m gearing-up for the game! BTW…my cable sucks @ my apartment. I get the 4 majors from NYC. I do get ESPN (thank god) No NFL channel, but I can from DirecTV.

Kayla & her father do make a “rockin'” cup of tea! I did the “Eight O’Clock” coffee via the Keurig machine when I was living in Mass. Coffee does exist here, just not like tea.

Ok. Game on! We’re like an hour or so out. I’m getting the game on regular TV. I’m up & about. Kayla got the tea working & Ahmet is just getting out of bed. The Karga family is up & running! Love it! I so worried about this game! If we pull this off, then we are the “real deal” Do we have a chance?
Even an hour seems like a DECADE right now. Raiders lost today and are 2-3. Broncos have a bye. A win tonight puts us in pretty firm control of the AFC West. Do we have a chance? HELL YES!!! With Hunt, Hill, Kelce, “new version Alex” and the new and improved “Crazy Andy” we ALWAYS have a chance! Hell! Who thought we had a chance against the Patriots this year?

Naturally, CT is just my ChiefsCrows nickname. Just shorter than typing my full handle. If the Turks feel strongly about first names you can tell her mine is “Kris” short for “Krishna” in memory of my great Grandmother who was from Northwestern India. As for being “respectable”…well perhaps not as much as I should be but as you well know, there was a time long ago and far away when American parents taught their kids to always be respectful unless given good cause not to.
And please tell both of them that the fact that they are watching the game with you will make the game even more enjoyable for me. I just love the idea of Chiefs fans on the other side of the world. Makes me smile!
Ahmet asks me about my intentions (very serious here) I said I love your daughter & let’s see where it goes. That only goes so far. You have to “Pony-Up” & make good @ some point. Like Turkish women, the men are very similar. They need to “know” Looks like I might be going to NYC (Diamond District) or Switzerland. I know it’s super early, but you know when it’s real. If you guys were in my shoes, you would understand. Might be married in the Middle-East so soon. My divorce is set on 10/26th. Never, ever thought I would be going down this path again! Love my life right now. K….The game is about to start so it time to move on.
