Where did you go wrong? Maybe because you’re a Northeast aggressive idiot. How about being “smooth” & let the chicks come to you? You think Kayla is a model? Got news for you NJ…She the girl next door type. There are a TON of model types in Istanbul. Thick eyebrows, dark skin, modern clothes etc. Glad you think so much of my girl. I dig her & I’m so lucky.

Thank you CT! I mean that. Kayla is an Emergency room Nurse. She works M-F. So I get get to hang with her on the weekends & week day nights (wink) CT…I’m living the dream. Her father is very religulous & wants me to go to church every morning. Been going for greater good. We have tea after. Working the system. Dude….I have it all right now. Kayla said too me yesterday…if I left her she would be devastated. WOW…That’s a tough one. I’m hanging brother. Istanbul is my city for the next year. It’s strange in a way. I’m not in Boston or America for that matter. But I walked down the street like I live here! I’m a very dark skinned person so people think I’m Turkish.
I speak 3 languages (German, Spanish & French) All of them have some similarity to English. Turkish is off the charts. Not even close. I’m spending like 3+ hours a day trying to learn. It’s not easy when you’re 51. Kayla & her dad make fun of me when I try to speak Turkish. Her father likes the fact that I’m trying! Istanbul is a temperate zone (like San Francisco) It’s never too hot or cold. Like 70 all of the time. Beaches are rocky, but the water is very clear. Bought two beach chairs the other day, so I think I’m heading there now (it’s around 11:00AM right now) Be well CT!

Sorry NJ. Didn’t mean to be snippy. Just don’t like to “validate” myself. You questioned me & I don’t dig that! I’m too old to play games. Maybe you’re a “Millennial” & don’t take a person word for truth. Thought I would share my life with my KC Chief buddies. It’s so different being away from the USA, but it’s cool just the same. Sitting on a beach chair on the Sea of Marmara & scoring a tan! The water is pretty warm (around 75)
Mass, I can tell you are very happy but just want you to take a step back real quick. I can tell you after divorce every girl looked suitable and I don’t want you to rush into anything. Just to make a joke I went looking for some kind of ritual that would change your life after you got married, something like you would be responsible to support her whole family.
There are studies out there stating Turkish marriages to foreigners are on the rise, but the marriages are not lasting. The women are marrying for financial support and once married struggle.
Just saying be careful. That’s all.

Seek: Thanks for your insight. BTW….Kayla’s family is super rich. Her father owned (sold it) one of the largest sewer piping companies in Turkey. So no worries on the money aspect. I know it’s a hurdle/challenge trying to mix different cultures together. We’re like any normal dating couple, though it’s unique. Statistics are just that. Doesn’t answer how we are with each other. I know I’m coming off a 25 year marriage, but sometimes life throws us a “curve” & we have to roll with it. Girls like Kayla don’t come around often brother. If I played it coy, then I couldn’t have kept her. With Turkish women…you have to be “upfront” & let them know you’re in. Once you do…the sky is the limit!

As for Kayla…I’m trying to take in slow, but sometimes you don’t choose love, it’s chooses you. Even with my ex it was never like this CT. She is wickeded HOT! I’m 6’5″ & she is 5’2″ I tower over her. When my plane landed in Istanbul….I wasn’t looking for a GF or wife for that matter. Got lucky in Israel (twice) & Sardinia. I’m very happy right now & I’m going to run with it! I just dropped off Kayla a few minutes ago (it’s past 11:00PM now.) I found an apartment the other day & I signed a lease for a year. Paid 6 months up front to get a better deal. So I’m in. We’ll see where it take us. I have a really good feeling about Kayla.

I am brother. Leaving the restaurant now. I pay $85.00 a month for the VW Golf. It’s like brand new. Leather (ish) seats, sunroof, satellite radio etc. Kayla owns a Audi Q5, but she’s the WORST driver ever! I mean really bad! She lives on the outskirts of the city. She picked me up like two weeks ago & I felt like my life was in danger when she was driving! I told her to pullover & I took the wheel. I live in downtown…Just 3 blocks from her hospital she works at. Pretty girls don’t make the best drivers!
