Ya know, I been tryin to catch this fish down by the dock over the last 2 weeks and it keeps breakin my line so I had my son go down with the scuba gear on and he waited until I had that sucker on the line, sure enough the damn thing broke my line and when the kid came up he said ,
Your not gonna believe this, it’s a damn blue gill, it grabbed your line, went into a car thats down there and rolled the window up!The fish jumped outta the water, I got a photo of it and that sucker is huge, the photo weighed in at 14.8 pounds!

I don’t eat Bass I just like to catch them and then release them. I have only kept one Bass I didn’t eat and it is on my wall. The first one I caught that was over 5 pounds. Had to mount that sucker LOL!

MemberYup I catch and release too. I used to always think that Texas had the biggest bass, but I will be honest and tell you I have never seen one here that big.

That one Chris caught is the biggest i have seen personally in Iowa, but I have caught many 5-6 pounders.

That one Chris caught is the biggest i have seen personally in Iowa, but I have caught many 5-6 pounders. The one I caught here in Iowa is a mid size Bass in Texas and Florida. Down where the weather doesn’t get cold enough to freeze the water the Bass don’t hybernate and because of that and some Cybernetic cross mating they have a strand of Bass that can get up to 24 -25 pounds in Texas and Florida. I would love to get into one of those Monsters. I think the reason mine was so big is it’s a Black Bass and a female as well. Black Bass have been neted in Iowa in the 14 – 16 pound range. The DNR pulled a Black Bass out of the lake I live on that was 14.2 pounds just last Summer, I think it was the same one I caught as I released it . I want to catch that sucker again LOL!
