yes robert turner, the chiefs haven’t drafted well the last few years. But 2010 was Pioli’s first year of drafting when all his ducks are in a row. His first year here (2009 draft with Tyson Jackson no.3 overall) he had a new scouting dept and all that, not saying its a good excuse but i for one think Tyson Jackson was our player because they know he will turn into a solid defender for us. Maybe not ridiculous like a no.3 overall should be, but with our history of D-Lineman, i will take a 10 year starter any day who can be effective vs the run and eat up blocks for our pass rushing LB’s….

its only the 2nd year in Pioli’s era. I know everyone is losing patience with the Vermeil and Herm era’s and I think this is where most of your anger is coming from. dont take it out on Pioli, the 2010 class looks like the best we have had in a decade, at least to my eyes…

Well, Favre could probably single-handedly win a couple Super Bowls with us.

since he hasnt won a superbowl in a decade and everything. and hes 40. IF favre even comes back, he will be with MIN… this is a dumb trade, and Favre single handedly isnt going to win anything for our team without Charles and Bowe…

If I may open with a rant:

How does Page get listed in the top 12 of anything, except missed tackles, by anyone?! He is the definition of a soft FS. He can’t tackle, and he tries for the INT instead of providing coverage. He’s never going to be the hard-hitting FS we need to run the 3-4. And he’ll never have the coverage abilities to be anything but a liability in coverage. Was he a decent value for a 7th round pick? Sure. Is he the worst starting FS in the NFL? Yeah, by my count. Did he do anything in 2007 and 2008 except help us lose games? No, by my count.

And Flowers, Pollard, and Carr should all be in front of Weddle, Page, Goodman, and Johnson. Weddle’s been the definition of inconsistency. Who wouldn’t rather have Flowers and Carr over Goodman or Johnson?

My thoughts Exactly…except i dont think Page is the worst safety in the league by any means lol, he certainly isnt top 12 of anything…

if you think we are making the playoffs, you are in for a long, long year..i say we win 6 games. Our defense still blows….hard. And every game outside of our division is tough….next year though!

wed better hope we have improved this year. 31st defense last year, and 3 different starting qb’s…..Tony G made our entire team last year…

theres only one way to go…up!
DL, OL, LB, TE and S are still some question marks though…

    long way to go!

I agree…im not 100% sold on Cassel yet. If Pioli was so good at finding gem qb’s of the future in the draft, why not draft an Olineman (wouldnt hurt) with no.3 overall, give Thigpen one years worth to prove he can play, and if he isnt what Pioli is looking for, he can give the qb he drafts in this year’s class (assuming he takes a qb in the 6th or 7th round this year) a chance at the starting gig the following year…its not like we are going to compete for the superbowl this year or anything…

and i agree about having more pressing needs than QB…that 2nd rounder (34 overall) could have landed us a mighty fine linebacker….which is exactly what NE will do with it…
