BANHAMMER!!! haha…. wait I think that is what kind of deodorant I use!

Anywho… check this out. A good read.

I knew that there was wiggle room with contracts but didn’t realize it was to this magnitude. Sheds some light on the $84mil we spent last year.

So everyone calling the chiefs cheap are way off. It is just again pioli being smart so that he won’t be restricted by cap if a signing comes along he wants.

That “newbie” has been a member since 2009. I am sure that when he posted the sh!t he posted, he expected some backlash. I also think he likes the backlash or he would not have been so happy to keep the thread going.

Agreed… In our defense he did stir the pot for ohhhhh…. 45 pages of forum.

But thats neither here nor there.

If I am not mistaken everyone here gave him a chance to back up his points and he had nothing. I feel like he should have been posting on a raiders forum. Lesson… Don’t kick the bee hive..

But in a true attempt to get back on topic… I am not sure of the contract we just gave gaither… i cant imagine it to be much. I have gotta say that we ended up more active in FA than I originally thought. I was surprised at first with Gaither… But looking back, after we made an attempt to Jamaal Brown and failed I had a feeling we weren’t done at OT.

If this guy can step up we will have on hell of a young OL. I hope we can see what he has to bring to the table tomorrow night!

There are three problems with it.

One, a newer member may get the impression that name calling is acceptable, if it is not identified.

Two, If a very mild amount of offense is taken, then the result is likely to be a “counter attack”, escalating the animosity, and inviting yet more rule violations.

Three, It is against the rules. I agree that it was not some big deal. But we have rules here.

I did not send a PM to anybody over anything in this thread.

I did not give out any form of Moderation. I simply made it known where the rules are, and asked that we watch our steps, so as to avoid any having to deal with it as a Mod.

And the response has been good.

Everybody stepped back across the line, avoiding all Mod action.

And man is it ever good to avoid that. You should hear how much whining and crying goes on when something actually does get moderated.😆

Not everybody has to be the kind of fan that you think they should be.

But, so long as you keep things within the rules, enjoy trying to humiliate your fellow Chiefs fans.

Not sure what is gained from it. But it’s your call.

Just do me a favor and don’t cry mod abuse if I step into the discussion.

    You keep feeding the thread…..

Does that not qualify as trolling?

(BTW: I’ll try to get you a response to your previous post ASAP. Tried once, but lost it due to being timed out.)

I am not trying to humiliate anyone… they are doing a fine job of humiliating themselves. “Timid need not apply” you know what go ahead and take that down. Because defending the team from constant negative bullsh!t can stay PG for only so long. Wet Blanket…. hahaha.

well you know what… all you guttersnipes can go right to hades.

Hmmm “chiefsrule” except they don’t because you obviously think they aren’t worth sh!t or capable of doing sh!t. I gotta think you are a troll for sure… I mean I gotta.

Here’s to all the enthusiasm for the team and hopes for a 5-11 season! I mean we didn’t bring in Aubrayo Franklin who was so coveted by “experts” that he only got a 1 year deal… So there is NO WAY we can win any games now. I mean if only Pioli could see that we would win the superbowl.

You know for as much sh!t as I have to hear from being a chiefs fan from other teams and divisional rivals I have to be off my ****!n rocker to got out of my way to log onto a website and listen to it from a “chiefs fan”…

OH and we just signed Jared Gaither from baltimore… But who cares we still suck and aren’t going to win….

There were no problems before any mods stepped in. I know you guys can close threads, send out infractions, ban people, change posts. Whatever, the thread did not need clarification. Yet here we are still getting spoken to like we are children.

Did anyone here have a problem with anything in this thread? Feel free to speak up. People disagree, adults sometimes say crazy things like wet blanket or troll. Is that really a need for you guys to “clarify” points of view for me? Ad I say me, because no mod is trying to “clarify” my point to anyone else.

I have to take the blame for the wet blanket remark… but seriously who can really take offense to that… Ha.

I respect everyones point of view… I really do. But I have heard enough negative attitude over the 10 win 3 season stent to last me a lifetime. A chiefs fan cheering for a 2-14 team should be ecstatic with a 10-6 division winner 2 years later…

I for one am amazed by our progress and am excited as hell for this season.

Bottom line if you are going to come out and publicly flame a team that played their hearts out and won the division then prepare to get an ear full… and if you can’t handle that then keep your negative **** to yourself. If you call yourself a fan then cheer… or otherwise what are you doing here?

i saw a bumper sticker the other day that reminded me of chiefrule… it read “I would join the optimists club… but it probably wouldn’t work out.” haha

This is getting old but do you not realize our cap is spent. Next year Carr, flowers, gilberry and bow are all free agents. Spending the bank on players whose old teams did not feel were worth their price tag will make it difficult to sign our own players.

Then we will have to start the rebuild all over again.

Your constant badgering about the chiefs not spending money on players you want is getting extremely old and makes people question if you are just trolling for a argument and really are just one of those people who will never be satisfied.

Fact of the matter is in two years this team was reformed from crap and became the division winner and made the play offs. I think pioli knows more about running a franchise than some disgruntled fan trying to coin the phrase kc cheaps!

Exactly!!…. but I have tried this angle and it didn’t work I hope it pans out better for you. Haha.

So let me get this right, you disagree with my opinion therefore I don’t know anything about football and you know everything, RIGHT? LOL! Guess we will see in the standings how the Chiefs do and see who is right and who is wrong won’t we? Wet blanket? WOW! Haven’t heard that since grade school.

No I have never claimed to know everything about football… I am just trying to bring positivity to a team that is progressing and has given none of us reason to doubt them. Because they have indeed gotten better the last three years. They have drafted really well. been very smart financially and have won games.

And yes wet blanket… I said this to be respectful to your depressing attitude about everyones enthusiasm. I had typed a few other things but them deleted them.

And just a question… how many games are you going to watch this season… and why?

So how much did Franklin or Gregg sign for? Can you tell me? If Powe might be that good why did 31 other teams not get him sooner? If we sign players to one year contracts who says they will resign with us the next year? We weren’t going to sign Franklin and Gregg but I think we should have went with the younger player who Pro Football Focus ranked the #2 run stopping interior lineman last year.

Look man, what is done is done… either get behind what is happening here or don’t… I couldn’t really give a **** less. You don’t back up your points with any evidence that you have any real football knowledge… just regurgitating pro football focus. pretty much all you have brought to 29 pages of forum is “we are cheap” and “franklin or bust”.

Read and do some research for a change….

after all our FA signings we look to be around 10-12 mil under the cap… there are now a lot of teams spending less than us.

Recapping the Cap For The Chiefs « Arrowhead Addict | A Kansas City Chiefs blog

And to use a little foresight here comes a post about how we didn’t spend it the right way… boy oh boy we all can’t wait to read.

So please chiefsrule… you wet blanket… enlighten us some more about how our offseason has been crap, and we are gonna lose bigtime, and we are cheap… all whilst not having even seen this team in pads.

I don’t think we need to worry about reaching the salary cap this year.

But, how much do we need to spend just to hit the minimum?

My guess is Hali’s signing would not bring us anywhere near it.

Well thats the problem… The only minimum this year is on a league wide basis. 99% of the salary cap number must be reached by all teams collectively. The per team minimum of 89% does not come into effect until 2013.

So essentially the chiefs could sign Hali and still probably have around $30mil to spend to reach the cap…(I think we are about 28mil under right now) and not spend another dime.

On this part I may be wrong but I believe that this then allows teams to go over the cap of $120mil to bring the league to the committed 99%. teams like the skins, jets, and eagles could spend upwards of 130-135 mil.

Hali might just be the reason that we have not gone out and spent a ton of money in the free agent market like some have wanted us to. I think we are going to do whatever we can to get him resigned.

Yeah but if you think about it they are moving forward thinking of him making the Franchise tender amount… Which is a ton (top five paid players at his position averaged out… I think)

So if they can get him signed to a long term they will actually open up room under the cap this year… As long term contracts are usually back loaded.

Since tomorrow is the official go day I am interested to see if they get the Hali/Carr situation sorted and in camp.

And to add some Oline depth… Bring in some competition at RT. Broken record I know but I think it is the biggest area of need.

Well how many really good free agents do you think we can sign? You really think we can sign 5 of them?

We won division due to an easy schedule and San Diego having their players hold out in the beginning of the season. Just wait and see the results after this year I want to hear your excuses.

I have to say I respectfully agree to disagree. Nothing of any true insight has come from our conversation. No matter what is said I hear that we are cheap because we haven’t signed one NT (of which NO OTHER TEAM HAS SHOWN INTEREST) so maybe he isn’t our savior. And that our division title is a fluke because of an easy schedule.

At this point I feel pity for you… if this is all you can take from a love of the chiefs then you are the one who truly loses in all of this and seem to prefer the easy schedule yourself.

    GO CHIEFS!!

I guess that is your opinion and anyone who disagrees with your opinion or the majority is a troll, right? I have the facts we are one of the lowest paid teams in the NFL much like the Royals in baseball. What other info do you need?

But you have to admit that we are on the up and up. Bottom line you are a fan… Just a fan like all the rest of us. Not a coach… A GM… A scout… A FAN. Get off your high horse and back the team that you love. No matter how much you think you know about football it doesn’t change that fact.

The only thing about you that pisses me off is after all your complaining I gave you a chance to state your case by giving us some insight as to 5 players you would add to our roster….. you gave me 2… you just regurgitated what every other “football expert” was saying. Lame!

According to all your insight Aubrayo Franklin will single handedly win the 49ers the Super Bowl…. absolutely ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!

I am sorry but if if spending the majority of the cap is more important than a 10-6 division winning young team with nothing but upside…..

Then by all means go be a redskins fan and let us know how that works out for ya.

I read yesterday Fraklin is meeting with his own coaches in SF today with the possibility of returning there. Could have been he never wanted to leave but was trying to gain leverage to get them to pay him more. Regardless what would we do with Gregg if we signed him? I am sure we probably told Gregg he could start if he signed here.

Yes I do feel like we have lost more than we have gotten as far as talent. And I still feel with a couple of really good free agent signings we could contend for a super bowl. If you could do that why not do what it takes to get there now? I( think Blalock would have been a huge upgrade on the offensive line probably would have been better than Waters BUT as we can see we are never going to sign really good free agents anymore. I think it is just wishful thinking by all of us who go “I hope we sign this really good player or that really good player” Not going to happen with Clark in control.

As far as Herm the worst coach I have ever seen in my life. Just listening to his speeches made me sick the guy had no clue.

And these will continue to be the concerns of a smaller market team. I was thrilled when I saw that there was to be a salary minimum. I want to bring in the talent as well… But until we finish this year with a bad record and same struggles then I can’t help but be a believer.

It seems to many that this years FA period has the chiefs in the negative… and maybe it does. I want a RT. I want a NT. But lets give the team one week from today. Negotiations are going to be at their most involved over the next 2 days with FA activation being on Thursday.

We offered Edwards and Smith… just not the money other teams did. and lets not forget that with those 2 on the team we were calling for a change. Waters walked but I have to believe Asomoah will perform well having an entire year under his belt behind him.

It doesn’t matter anyhow most of the good free agents have been signed.

Soooooooooo….. Where has Aubrayo Franklin signed?!?! One of the 2 players you named when asked to give 5 that you would like to see the chiefs sign… you need to take a deep breath and think your whole stance through. You are contradicting yourself and posting thoughtlessly.

Man if you are this dismal now… I couldn’t imagine how unhappy you were during the herm era.
