I totally agree and I’m not saying Eric Berry wont be a Pro Bowler but even if he is he will not change the game even if he had 1 int every other game it wouldn’t make a difference thats probable why teams dont draft S that high. It was a very bad draft.

Must be high.. This is looking to be one of the best drafts in years..
Your post is pretty pointless since half those choices haven’t had a chance to produce yet.
To make things worse, you talk about Curry who was underwhelming his rookie season, and Cushing who is facing a suspension.

Carl Pettersen drafted some good players, but he is also partly responsible for the state of the team right now.
He completely failed to maintain the offensive line, which was the bread and butter of this team for so many years.
Besides he had plenty of busted picks aswell, and he traded away some pretty darn good players.

    :ninerssuck:

Yeah letting Charles, Cassel and Bowe go..
Why not throw Albert in there too? Then all the pillars of our future offense are gone! :D

Don’t forget Pioli in this mix.. He will be doing all he can to make sure this team will work out. Hopefully he will continue to try and emulate some of what made it work in NE. :)

You just had the season of your career, and missed two games, you have completely changed your lifestyle to better suit the team, and can’t get a long term contract. Yet LJ, who has been a distraction in the locker room since he got here signed a fat long term contrat after one of his career years. How would that make you feel, I would have told Herm and Carl to fly a kite as well. IF you are gonna pay one, you should have paid the other. LJ has just as many character issues as JA does.

Part greed on Allen’s part, but flat out stupidity on Carl’s part.

I can agree.. Im just saying that if they weren’t going to pay him, he would have probably caused lots of problems in the locker room. Thats why it was best to trade him and get the picks. Whether they got their picks worth, well.. Who knows yet.. :)

I’m sorry, but that is one of the most foolish things I’ve ever read. Do you really think that the way to rebuild a team is by trading a 26-year-old homegrown DE, who is one of the best in the league? What do you think “rebuilding” is? Do you really think its drafting a bunch of rookies and hoping for the best?

A team that was really rebuilding would have signed JA long term. A team that was really rebuilding would have signed some veteran leadership to mentor the rookies. A team that was really rebuilding wouldn’t be trading young, franchise DEs for project players.

I mean, are you serious? Of course we’re not making it to the playoffs with this team. But locking down JA at the DE position would have made better for the next ten years.

Right now, we have nothing to build on. Every bit of talent is being stripped away. And people like you are saying its a good thing. Get your head on straight.

Yeah but he was pissed off and didn’t want to be here.. For some reason he doesn’t strike me as the “I will keep quiet, and do whats best for a team that will suck for the next couple of years” guy..

    Mr. Oracle!

Obviously Allen is a better player than Dorsey. But he wouldn’t have made much difference this year anyway. 1 good DE wasn’t going to salvage this season, get over it!
JA would have made the pass rush MUCH better, but the Chiefs still wouldn’t have made it to the playoffs..

    It’s rebuilding time..!

It was a good idea to trade him, whether Herm picked the right players, well that still remains to be seen. Don’t forget that Jared Allen is standing next to Kevin and Pat Williams. Its not like they can just double him and forget about them. So he will have good stats. :)
